OKipos is a unique café, bar, and fresh produce space in Whyalla, built around community, hospitality, and quality food and drink experiences. We are looking for a reliable and experienced Senior Bar / Shop Person to step into a hands on leadership role supporting our day to day operations and events.
This is a senior casual position suited to someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, thrives in a fast paced environment, and is committed to the realities of hospitality hours.
The Role
You will take ownership across bar and shop operations, helping ensure smooth service, strong team coordination, and high presentation standards. Responsibilities include:
Leading bar and shop service during shifts
Opening and closing duties
Supervising and supporting team members
Coordinating and assisting with events
Food preparation and service support
Roster assistance
Setting up and maintaining fresh produce displays
Fresh produce quality control
Cash handling and operational oversight
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across bar and shop
Making cocktails and delivering high quality bar service
Bringing creativity to the role by contributing ideas and adding your own spin to cocktails or food offerings
What We’re Looking For
Proven bar management experience (essential)
Confidence making cocktails and running a bar service
Strong hospitality leadership or supervisory background
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to manage busy service periods calmly
Initiative and strong organisational skills
Reliability is a must
Commitment to working hospitality hours
Requirements

RSA certification
Hours
Core shifts include:
Friday morning
Friday evening
Saturday morning
Approx. 15 hours per week, with additional hours possible during events.
